Keynote Speaker: Mark Herman

Mark Herman has written the Humor and Translation column for the ATA Chronicle for over a decade. His translations of operas, operettas, and musicals, done in collaboration with Ronnie Apter, have been performed throughout the United States, Canada, England, and Scotland.

Productions in the Carolinas include Carl Maria von Weber's German farce Abu Hassan at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, and a touring production of the same work by Opera Carolina Theatre of Charlotte, NC. Last season, Herman and Apter also contributed to the projected English captions for Charpentier's French opera Louise at the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston.
